Meet The MIM Team - Marjorie

** Just realised (two days late) that this scheduled post didn't go up**

Hi, welcome to another Meet The MIM Team feature post.

I have really been enjoying this little peek in to the lives of the fabulous Make It Monday Design Team.
This week we get to visit

Marjorie

Hi everyone..It is my turn this week to tell you a little about myself. You might want to get a BIG pot of tea first lol!!  My name is Marjorie and I was so thrilled and nervous when Michelle asked me to join the team as this is my first DT assignment...Michelle has been marvellous, checking that I'm o.k. and giving me lots of reassurance, and has made me feel very welcome. The design team is a fabulous group of girls with so much talent and such a wicked sense of humour, I feel quiet lucky to be part of it all.
I live in South Yorkshire in the U.K. although I do herald from Manchester in Lancashire ..My hubby and I moved to South Africa when we first got married, a new bride of only 6 months, we only went for a couple of years to travel and make some money, and we ended up having both our children there and staying for 30 years!!  Made NO money!!  but met lots of truly wonderful people and have had the most amazing adventures!!   We would probably still be there now if our children hadn't moved away to lands afar lol!!  After my granddaughter was  born we moved back to the U.K. That was just over ten years ago now..Wow! time flies....
I do miss my friends that are still there, as they become your family, also the glorious weather and the space...we had a smallholding, just outside of Cape Town, which was about 10,000 sq metres..with lots of animals, donkeys, ducks, peacocks etc,  and I had a chicken run with around 300 of the little hunnies running around lol!! and of course two lovely dogs, a  terrier Jessie and a border collie called Candy...
My Hubby and I have two children, and two grandchildren.  Our son lives in Germany with his little family, and Deborah and Candice live 2 or 3 minutes away from us in a rural village in South Yorkshire.  I work  at the local news agents part time..(I needed to meet people when we returned, and what better place than a news agents lol!! )  I look after Candice everyday plus our shared little Jack Russell.. Cassy!

Cassy (loves the snow)

Card making is a whole new experience for me and everyday is a learning curve my first love is colouring...didn't know I could do it until a couple of years ago...The girls (Debs and Candice) were colouring images for there cards and I said "Do you mind if I have a try...and as they say the rest is history lol!! I just love it!!  I love my Prisma Pencils, as I find I can control the amount of shading etc better.   I do have arthritis in my fingers and joints, but I think this is a good form of exercise for them.  I do keep having a go with the copics and promarkers. (Me not likky very much though lol!)  I love all forms of card making but my favourite is Girly, flowers, lace pearls etc....I have to work hard at putting my card together as I'm not  very good with design or colour, but I am getting better lol!! practice makes perfect so they say lol!! I love it when I have to follow a sketch...much easier lol!..even choosing paper can be a nightmare lol!!
I love blogging and spend far too much time surfing than doing lol!!  I Have met some really beautiful  people who share there talents so willingly... I have learnt such a lot from all you wonderful crafters out there!!...I also love the craft fairs I get so excited, and can't wait until the day is here!! (sad hey!

Will leave you with a few photos of the surrounding area of where I live, we all love to walk, so go to places where we can take Cassy.

I am a sucker for puppy photos, Cassy is so cute. So had to come and read your bio. You have had an interesting life. The village looks idealistic. It's nice to learn about the people behind the cards
