Teacher's gift and a few random photos

Hi

I hope those of you facing extreme weather conditions be it in England the USA or closer to home in Victoria, ACT and NSW are all staying safe.

I have some quiet time to myself tonight as my husband and boys all crashed out early.

Thought I would post another one of my teachers gifts (actually for a very sweet teacher aid).

I just love these acrylic post it note stands, so quick and easy to make.

I made the paper flower using a three different sized five petal flower punches. Hand made flowers is the challenge over at Oh Alice Challenge Blog  so I will link my project up there. This is the first time I have joined in with one of their challenges so I hope it meets all the criteria.

I also managed to finish rearranging my crafting space today. My desk and a few of the shelves still need to be tidied up but it's pretty much done. So I thought I would share a couple of photos as it probably wont stay this clean or organised for long.

As you can see it is nothing flash, a real mish mash of furniture, but I love it and I feel so lucky to have a room for my craft so that I can leave it all set up and not have to pack it away each evening.

Although I really should get around to putting up a curtain seeing as how we have been living here for over three years now!

My gorgeous little guys were also industrious today. They managed to decorate the Christmas tree. I think I had just as much fun watching them as they had doing it.

there was of course some fighting (three boys...c'mon you knew there had to be)

But in the end they did an absolutely amazing job.

Now we wait for the big guy in the red suit to make his appearance.

Hope you are all having a fantastic day!!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Teacher's Gift Request

.
Hi

I hope you are all having or have had (depending on your geographical location) a good day.
Mine was not so crash hot.

I had been feeling a little off colour yesterday but woke up today with a really horrible tummy bug. My DH was up and gone to work early and wouldn't be home till late and I was in no condition to drive the boys to school today so the three of them were home with me.To really make sure the day went as badly as possible,  today was the day the electricity was scheduled to be off from 8:30am to 5pm for maintenance. So the poor boys couldn't even watch tv or play on the computer to entertain themselves. Stinking hot and humid here as well and no aircon, so all in all, a fabulous day, NOT!

Anyway, enough whinging! On to a little gift set I wanted to share with you.

I made this calendar stand last week for a friend who had requested something suitable for her daughter's male teacher.

A frame stand is made from cardstock and designer paper. I have given it a coat of Modge Podge for strength and durability.

I still have about eight more gifts sets to make for my kids teachers so I better get more organised!

Atleast I am feeling a bit better this evening so I should be right for tomorrow.

Another bit of good news is that my Dad has finally (after four weeks in the hospital stroke ward) been transferred to a rehab centre. It is closer to their home so it makes it easier for my Mum and apparently she can take Dad's dog (who he loves to death) in to see him. That will give him a real boost.

Just a reminder too that the Make It Monday linky party is open at the top of my blog.

You have plenty of time to dig through your blog archives and find a fabulous project that you want to dust off and show off to everyone, or you could link up your most recent.

There is no theme, anything goes. It's all about sharing the creativity and gaining some inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Complete Gift

.
Hi

This evening I have been working on packaging up my first attempt at journal making with my brand new Zutter Bind It All.

Those of you familiar with JeMbellish and our market stall and online store will know that what sets us apart is our range of "Complete Gifts". That being gifts that are beautifully packaged ready to give with a card.

I decided to package the mini journal up as a complete gift for our store.

Top of the box is an easle card and the sentiment in the scollop oval reads "on the birth of your beautiful baby"

Inside the box is the mini journal with a small pen tied to the side with a white ribbon.

With the lid back on the box and the easle card closed and tied with the ribbon.

Our market stall is this coming weekend and I hope to have a few of these ready for sale.

I have also entered this in to the YNS Challenge.

Recipe:

Regal Rose and Pink Pirouette cardstock - Stampin Up
DP from Hostess Level 1 Pattern Pack II - Stampin Up
Whisper White Ribbon 1/4" and 5/8" - Stampin Up
"Congrats" stamp set - Stampin Up
Becky Bear Large - Kaszazz
Ink Regal Rose - Stampin Up

Request from a friend

.
Hi

Well, it's been another big week.

Market stall went well on the weekend and my friend Jill's romantic short story give away was very well received. If you didn't get a copy of it you can send an email to info@jembellish.com with "Fijian Sunset" in the subject line and a copy will be emailed to you and you will also then receive montly updates of our newest creations.

Yesterday at school pick up a friend of mine put in a request for a card suitable for a baby shower which I have made for her but I got a bit carried away and ended up making a carriage to go with it. Carriage contains two baby facewashers rolled up inside.

I have seen a number of tutorials on the internet for making smaller carriages for baby shower favours but I decided to have a go at making a larger one as a gift box.

Recipe

Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery and Very Vanilla cardstock from Stampin Up
Designer paper - Unknown
Ribbon - Very Vanilla 1/4" (6.35cm) Grosgrain ribbon

You can view the baby girl version I have made here on the JeMbellish blog

Thanks for stopping by.

Back to School

The excitement of Christmas is over now and the house has settled back to normal. The boys are enjoying their presents from Santa, Grandparents and us and that should keep the boredom at bay till the end of the school holidays.Christmas is always a nice time of year but it is also nice when it's finished too.

Now its time to start thinking about Back to School.

My friend Jill and I have our monthly market stall coming up this Saturday (9th January).for those of you who are not in the area on the day you can always order any of our lines from our website. http://www.jembellish.com/ . Check out the website to see what the wonderful things  Jill has made. there are beautiful hats and backpacks, furry pencil cases and of course the ever popular JeMs.

I have been busy making notebooks and pencil packs. And I have also made some Brag Boards which you will see below (not paper craft but still gorgeous).

These girls notebook and pencils gift packs were made using Pink Pirouette and Pink Passion carstock from Stampin-Up. Stamped images are from Kaszazz.

This boys notebook and pencils gift pack (see more designs on our website) was made using  Baja Breeze, Pacific Point and Tangerine Tango cardstock from Stampin-Up and the stamped images are from Stampit.

I hand bind the notebooks with co-ordinating ribbon.

You can also order a personalised Brag Board from our website (or come and see us on market stall day).
These Brag Board made from 45cm x 45cm x 1.8cm canvas and are ready to hang. They are a wonderful way to display your child's school and or sporting achievments.

Thanks for looking today.

Designer Handbag Gift Sets

Today I want to share with you one of my most popular designs.

The inspiration for these handbags came from some talented ladies over at SCS, Chickiez and garkarlon.

The set comes with a photo frame, keyring, notepad and gel pens and a co-ordinating card.

I make the photo frames from chipboard squares and acetate.

This set is made using SU Bella Rose DSP

This set is made using SU Rasberry Tart DSP

You get the idea now anyway.

I really enjoy making these gift sets even though they can be quite fiddly and time consuming. The end result is very satisfying. I find myself wishing they were real bags!!
