Meet The MIM Team - Chrissy

Hi

Welcome back to my blog today, it's always nice to see you.

Every Tuesday I am running a Meet the MIM Team feature post so that you can all get to know the lovely Design Team ladies a little better.

This week we are visiting

over in the Land Of The Long White Cloud!

Hello Everyone....Michelle over at Pink paper Paradise, who is our boss, but not bossy.. for Make it Monday  is doing features on her design team....and this time it is ME!!!

My name is Christine [CHRISSY], and have been on the Make it Monday design team...a long time..over a year now,my first DT ... and absolutely love it...the nicest bunch of girlies to work with, awesome senses of humour...brilliant crafters..and just great to know...

I am a widow, have 3 grown children and four adorable G/kids....and I work nearly full time as a care giver..and mind G/kids before and after school, most days..

I live in beautiful New Zealand on the East coast of the North Island - Hawke Bay -Napier.

Well, its on your right now...but over there>>>> in  that Bay..that looks like the letter C

The Art Deco Capital of the World....

From this disaster in 1931...an earthquake...which totally destroyed the town...

To this....the top end of our main street...

And this....our Marine parade... on the left and you can see the clock tower through the trees...

And looking down the main street in the daylight...

A view looking over the city and up the coast.......

We have our National flightless bird...The Kiwi

and we dont have any animals the will eat you...no croc's,snakes.lions or tigers or bears..oh! my...

But we got lots a sheep................................

We have more sheep than people here.....

And some beautiful mountains and scenery.....

Away from the cities there is bush where you can hunt deer and pigs...but nothing really dangerous..the odd spider can do you a bit of harm, but they are rarely seen...

We have some of the best eating fish in the world, and other seafood from heaven....Bluff Oysters...mmm..you have not had an oyster till you have eaten our bluff ones...

Stop drooling Chrissy...okay, got it together...

This is my craft room....

I sit on the left at my desk blogging and colouring...and stand on the right to build my cards..and cut papers etc...

This is my view when I'm doing my thing...my Birthday TV from  my son...and Harry's mess all over the floor...if I throw it in the basket [orange one] he pulls it out and tears it to bits..he is so clever..

Here he is, on his couch, thinking "more photos woman...how many do you need"..lol..]

So thats it...I could go one for hours, but I think Michelle is alrady tapping her foot..lol...

Luv CHRISSYxx

Thanks Chrissy!! What an awesome post, your photos look amazing. Soon as I can work up the courage to get on a plane I'll be over to give Harry a cuddle visit you, lol!

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you are enjoying the feature posts by the MIM ladies.

Make It Monday #91 with Digi Doodle Shop

Hi

Monday means a brand new linky party begins over at

This week we are saying goodbye to our friend and team member

I have enjoyed working with Mary over the last 15 months or so.
I have been inspired by her amazing work since I started my blog a couple of years ago and it has been so much fun to work with her.
As one of the original members she has been a huge part of what it takes to keep MIM coming to you each week and she will be greatly missed.

But I consider her to be one of my best blogging buddies and we will be keeping in touch for sure!

Thank you for everything Mary J, I wish you all the very best.

There is a lot going on for me these days and not all of it fun and I am finding my craft time is very limited.

But it is my way of relaxing and so I really enjoy it when I do get a chance to sit down and create a card.

I created my card this week using this fantastic image from our sponsor called "Fairy 1"

click on image to see it more clearly

Isn't she just beautiful?!
I had a lot fun colouring her up with my Copics.

Colours used are

Hair E30, E31, E33, E35 and E37
Skin E000, E00, E11, E21 and R20
Dress and Shoes R81,R83 and R85
Wings R81, R83, R85, R89, Y000 and Y11

Papers are from called "Beyond The Garden" from Stampin Up.

Make It Monday #91 is now open

DigiDoodle Shop is the results of a mother and daughter’s love for the arts and crafts.  It was started a little over 3 years ago with a little more than 100 stamps, and has since then grown to almost 500 stamps.  Joy (the mother of this team) designs realistic images, while Judy (aka/daughter) loves the “fun side of life”, and create images with a cartoon flair.  Having these two complimenting styles have enabled
DigiDoodle Shop to offer a wide variety of stamps.

The DigiDoodle Shop is giving away a $10.00 Store Gift Certificate to the lucky random winner!

To be in with a chance to win this fabulous prize all you need to do is leave a comment for another entry in this week's Make It Monday linky party. Be sure to mention you saw them on MIM. The more entries you comment on the more chances you have of winning.

I sure you hope you can join us this week.

Come on over and see the fabulous cards that my design teamies have created to kick start the link up.

Before you go though, check out this amazing creation from

Absolutely gorgeos tag!!

I ummed and aaahhed for a while but I just couldn't go past choosing this as my pick of the week.

Meet The MIM Team - Shirely-Anne

Hi there!!

Oh boy, I'm a bit late! Just realised now that the post I had scheduled for this morning did not post.

Well, never mind, here we are now and it's time for the

Meet The MIM team

feature post.

This week we get to know Shirley-Anne a little better.

For those of you who don't know (there might be a few, lol) Shirley-Anne is my Mum.

I can't tell you how wonderful it is to be able to share this hobby with her.

Ok, let's go visit Shirley-Anne!!

Shirley-Anne

Joining Michelle on Make it Monday, right at the beginning of its journey, would have to be the proudest moment , ever, and watching her take it to the dizzy heights it now enjoys,  is quite simply, awesome .

I love this too because it allows me to share the cards I create with all who visit my blog .

I have been card making for several years now . I began by recycling Christmas cards until I bought my first stamp and the rest is history . I would say that my style is definitely CAS, although I do make some vintage styles with a little embellishing flowers or bling .

My favourite colours are from the Autumn spectrum and my favourite tool would have to be the stamp-ma-jig . Then, my favourite research tool is my computer where there is an unending supply of inspiration .
I enjoy sharing my love of papercraft and stamping , holding workshops at home .

My Husband and I live in Adelaide , Australia .
Our leafy suburb , Campbelltown has many parks , most of which are a few minutes walk from home .
This is Morialta Falls just a 20 minute walk away .
I enjoy walking everyday .

                                                       Ducks at Lochiel Park.

I love and am grateful for,   the age I am , the place in which I live , my family and friends .
This is me , Shirley-Anne , really .

Thank's (Mum) Shirley-Anne!!

I'm looking forward to coming to visit you for real later this year!

Thanks for stopping by today, next week we get to go visit Chrissy.

Make It Monday #90

Hi there!

It's been a bit of a crazy week at my house and the chances for crafting and or blogging has been pretty much nil.

I did managed to steal a few minutes on Saturday morning to whip up a card for today's

I used a beautiful image called "All Dressed Up" from our sponsor this week.

The image is so pretty that I wanted it to be the focal point of my card so I decided not to add any embellishments. I opted instead for this pretty Stampin' Up! paper called Beyond The Garden.

To find out more about the fabulous Paper Party Promo running until the end of May

To add a little interest to the card I decided to run the image and sentiment through the Bigshot to emboss.

Make It Monday #90 is now open.

We are excited to be sponsored by the lovely ladies at
http://www.scrapbooksisters.co.uk/

Prize - 5 Digis

Special Card for a Special Mum

Hi there, how are you today?

Here we are mid week and mid month! In the blink of an eye it will be mid year aaack!!

Exciting things are happening during the month of May, especially if you are a huge fan of the fabulous Stampin' Up! papers like me.

This means that every time you purchase three packs of Designer Series Papers* (pp128-130 Ideas Book & Catalogue and p13 & p17 Autumn Winter Mini) you get a fourth pack for FREE!   That is $18.95 value at no extra charge. There are so many great papers to choose from and with so many beautiful designs its easy to find perfect paper for that next project.  There are fourteen packs to choose from for a full list check out the Paper Party Flyer.

I used the stunning Stampin' Up! Attic Boutique papers to create my Mum's Mother's Day card.

My Mum is a big fan of Vintage Style but it is waaay out of my comfort zone,
but these pretty papers made putting this card together pretty easy.

I basically cut up the sheets of DSP and layered them to create the whole card.

The Parasol is from the Stampin' Up!Rue Des Fleurs stamp set and is the only part of this card that has been stamped (except for the sentiment). I stamped  the parasol using Stampin' Up!Pool Party ink. I used a Stampin' Up! marker in the same colour to create the faux stitching.

The corset and the flowers have been cut from different parts of the DSP and sort of spliced together.

Not one to waste even the tiniest piece of this beautiful paper I uses a small left over piece to carry the theme right through to the inside of the card.

If you would like to take advantage of this amazing Paper Party Promotion
Contact Stamping Shanni today to place an order.  Papers will be sent directly to you without delay. Postage and handling charges apply (5%).

* the promotion excludes Specialty Designer Series Papers and Patterns Designer Series Paper Stacks and is only open to Australian residents

Meet The MIM Team - Rene

Hi

Welcome to the third of the Meet The MIM Team features.

This week it is Rene's turn to tell us a little bit about herself.

When Michelle mentioned she wanted to spotlight each MIM DT member, I was so excited!  I mean, is there anything better than talking about yourself?!?  Lol!!!
So let me tell you just a little bit about myself.  I'm a former teacher (7th and 8th grade Social Studies) who "retired" after I became a mom to my lovely daughter Grace.  Good thing too as twenty months later, along came Isabel!  Grace is already in kindergarten and Izzy starts in the fall!  Maybe, just maybe, the house will get cleaned, the dogs will get walked and mom will start running regularly again!  (Ok, we all know what is REALLY going to happen is the crafts will flow, mom will gain weight because she doesn't have to set a good example and will eat PopTarts all day, and the peace and quiet will slowly eat away at any sanity I have left!  Hahahaha!)

Grace and I at the kite festival...she had a butterfly painted on her face.

Izzy in her new favorite "chair" watching her favorite show 'Dinosaur Train.'

I've been making cards for around seven years but only really got into it about two years ago.  For me, crafting is a great way to relax and pretend I'm an artist.  I joined the Make it Monday design team last year and have loved every single minute of it!  They are the most wonderful group of ladies!

I shall close with some totally random pictures!  Lol!  Thank you for popping by and reading this little bio!  And a big thank you to Michelle for coming up with the idea!

This is me ready for our Christmas party...one of the perks of having extremely long ape arms is the ability to take pictures of yourself!  Lol!!!!  In the background is my only son (sleeping on MY pillow of course), Nicholas!

This is there the mess...I mean magic!...happens...

And last, but definitely not least, here are my "original" babies:

Nicholas, my ferocious guard dog (don't tell him but he acts an awful lot like a cat!)...

And my pretty princess Maggie!

Thanks for sharing with us Rene!! Your daughters are sooo adorable (and so are your puppies)!!

It is an absolute pleasure to have you on the MIM team.

Next week will be Shirley-Anne's turn to give us a sneak peek in to her crafting life.

Thank you for stopping by today.

Fabulous Florets and Beyond the Garden

Hi

Wow, posting three days in a row!! I better be careful I don't do myself an injury hey, lol!
Even more incredible is that I have a set of three cards to share with you today!!

My wonderful sponsor

recently provided me with a little goodie bag of Stampin' Up! products to review.

OOOh I felt like a kid on Christmas morning!!

No sooner did I get my little package home and I had that plastic wrap off the delicious paper and I was lost in that blissful feeling that comes from flipping through a new paper pack and the feel of the smooth stamp blocks in the palm of  your hand, dreaming of all the fabulous creations to come.

You know, you've been there................. standing there eyes closed, paper pack clutched to your chest, vague sensation of something pulling on your shirt tails and the distant voice calling.........Mum........Mum.

Oh snap! Back to reality...........lol!

With the combination of the versatile Fabulous Florets stamp set and pretty Beyond The Garden Designer Paper this trio of cards were created in quick succession.

The colour combination of Melon Mambo and Wild Wasabi is fresh and vibrant.

I stamped the flowers and leaves with Wild Wasabi ink and fussy cut them and popped them up with dimentionals.

I love the pretty Wild Wasabi Grosgrain Ribbon and I chose to use it to help tie in the three card layouts.

If you, like me, are a big fan of the beautiful Stampin' Up! stamps and papers and you would like to purchase this lovely set  or view the full range of products available then you can visit

Shanni will be doing a guest post here on Friday to tell you all about a fantastic
PAPER PARTY
promotion running for the month of May.

* the promotion excludes Specialty Designer Series Papers and Patterns Designer Series Paper Stacks and is only open to Australian residents

If you are just too impatient to wait for Shanni's guest post,  (lol, that's so me!) then just swing by and say hello to Shanni and she will give you all the details.

Thanks for stopping by today.
